Merrickville is a historic 1800’s village, known as the “Jewel of the Rideau”. Located on the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal Waterway, the Merrickville Locks and Blockhouse Museum are steps from the 1840 Guest House B&B and are a must to see. There are many unique business to tour including an Iron Foundry (opened in 1840), a Glass Studio where you can see the glass furnaces and watch the glass blowing in progress, the “Grotto” artists co-op gallery, specialty dress, leather and jewellery shops to name a few.
