New B&B concept getting rave reviews from happy guest...

eNews March 14, 2017

Our Story:

In 2012, Mike and Dawn bought the old Merrickville Royal Canadian Legion building that was originally a stone school house built in1829 and renovated in 1840.
In 2013, extensive renovations to restore the stone school house and build a modern two storey residence with 5 bedrooms and individual ensuites was completed, the 1840 Guest House B&B was born.
One interesting discovery found during the renovation of the stone school house was a signed message stating “Mirricksville 1840” written in the plaster under four layers of wall, which was subsequently preserved.  Today the village is named “Merrickville” with an “e” and without the “s” which speaks to the authenticity of the signature.
